Cape Weather oozes sun-soaked nostalgia on debut single 'Telephono' via The 405

September 6, 2017 Joshua Fisher
The group stretches out with the confidence of seasoned pros to offer the perfect end-of-summer jam. Cape Weather is one of those mysterious bands that seems to have emerged from the ether with a sound that makes you wonder whether they are brand new or are a band from another era. On their debut single, 'Telephono,' Natalie Smith and Eric Jackowitz stretch out with the confidence of seasoned pros to offer the perfect end-of-summer jam. Working a light groove and spry guitars, Smith offers a sultry vocal performance worthy of her inspiration, Dusty Springfield. Toss in the unmistakable saxophone of Joe Berry, best known for his work with M83, and you've got a timeless single that seems to beg to be played over and over again. Take a listen (or 12) to 'Telephono' below, and keep your head up for more from Cape Weather in the future. We doubt this is the last you'll hear from them.
